Today is the day you have been waiting for — the Thimphu Drubchen Festival 2026 at the magnificent Tashichho Dzong.
Arrive early in the morning to secure a good vantage point as the dzong courtyard fills with colour, sound, and spiritual energy. Watch in awe as monks dressed in elaborate silk brocade costumes perform the sacred cham mask dances — each dance a carefully choreographed ritual enacting the defeat of evil forces and the triumph of Buddhist dharma. The deep resonance of horns, drums, and cymbals fills the air as the ceremony unfolds in the same way it has for centuries.
The Drubchen Festival Bhutan is dedicated to Pelden Lhamo — the fierce and compassionate protective deity of Bhutan — and participating in this sacred event is believed to cleanse negative karma and bring blessings, peace, and good fortune to all who attend.
Unlike the larger Thimphu Tshechu Festival held just days later, the Drubchen is a more intimate, deeply tantric ceremony — making it a truly rare and privileged experience for those fortunate enough to witness it.
Your English-speaking guide will be by your side throughout, explaining the significance of each ritual, the meaning behind the costumes and masks, and the stories being told through dance — bringing this ancient tradition vividly to life.
In the afternoon, drive to Paro, enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery along the way.

The hike to Tiger’s Nest takes approximately 2–3 hours uphill through fragrant pine forests and prayer flag-lined trails, with breathtaking views at every step. Challenging but incredibly rewarding — this is a highlight of the entire Bhutan festival tour.
At the end of the day, we recommend you have a Traditional hot stone bath to get relaxed after a tiring day. It is not only practiced as a comforting leisure but also to treat various diseases.
You can stroll down the Paro town where you can always find Bhutanese authentic handicrafts which can be good souvenirs and remembrances of this exotic and serene Himalayan Kingdom ‘Bhutan’.
